Last updated: October 13, 2025
1) Our Commitment
Veils of Grace (“Veils of Grace,” “we,” “us,” “our”) honors your generosity by safeguarding your privacy. We collect only what we need to process gifts, steward relationships, and share impact. We will never sell, rent, or trade donor information. We will not send mailings on behalf of other organizations.
We do not sell or share (as defined by California law, including cross-context behavioral advertising) your personal information.
We use industry-standard security for online and offline data.
You control how we contact you and may opt out at any time.
Questions or requests: contact@veilsofgrace.org
2) Scope
This policy covers personal information we collect from donors and prospective donors online (our website, forms, email) and offline (events, mail, phone), including when processed by our service providers on our behalf.
3) Information We Collect
Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect:
Contact details: name, email, phone, mailing address.
Donation details: amount, date, method; limited payment references for receipts (we do not store full card numbers).
Recognition & preferences: anonymity requests, communication preferences, opt-in/opt-out choices.
Communications: messages, inquiries, event RSVPs, volunteer information you provide.
Technical/usage data: basic site analytics (e.g., pages visited, device/browser), cookies necessary for site functionality and aggregated analytics.
We may also maintain internal notes relevant to stewardship (e.g., program interests or event attendance).
4) How We Use Information
We use your information to:
Process donations and issue tax receipts.
Acknowledge and recognize gifts (unless you choose anonymity).
Send impact updates, invitations, and opportunities to support—based on your preferences.
Manage events and volunteer engagements.
Perform recordkeeping, audit, fraud prevention, and legal compliance.
Improve our site, programs, and donor experience (including aggregated analytics).
We will not use your personal information for purposes materially different from those above without notifying you and obtaining consent if required by law.
5) What We Don’t Do
No selling, renting, or trading of donor information.
No mailings on behalf of other organizations.
No publishing of personal donor details without consent (recognition lists always honor anonymity requests).
6) When We Share Information
We share donor information only as needed to operate our mission, including with:
Payment processors (e.g., reputable card/payment platforms) to securely process your gift.
Technology/service providers (e.g., email services, CRM databases, website/analytics) bound by confidentiality and security obligations.
Professional advisors (e.g., auditors, accountants) under duty of confidentiality.
Authorities when required by law, regulation, subpoena, or to prevent fraud or security incidents.
We require service providers to use donor information only for services they perform for us and to protect it appropriately.
7) Beneficiary & Image Privacy
To protect the dignity and safety of the brides we serve, we do not publish identifying details or images without explicit consent. Photos and stories are anonymized or shared with permission obtained through partner churches and community organizations.
8) Security
We employ administrative, technical, and physical safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the data, including:
Encrypted connections for online donations.
Access controls and least-privilege permissions.
Secure storage and restricted access to donor records.
Vendor due diligence for processors that handle payment data.
Despite safeguards, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. We monitor for and address risks consistent with industry standards.
